Stephanie Inman is a Boise-based artist whose work centers on site-specific public art, collaborative installations, and mixed-media practice. Attention to design shaped Stephanie’s early world. She was drawn to the elegant body styles of cars, the rhythm of calligraphy, and a lasting fascination with buildings and miniatures. She rearranged her bedroom almost weekly, built dollhouses from scratch, constructed forts by pruning her neighbor’s shrubs, and spent hours poring over floor-plan books. Raised by deeply supportive parents, she was encouraged to be curious, observant, and imaginative.

 

She went on to study architecture at the University of Oregon, earning a Bachelor of Architecture, and began her career working in design firms before opening her own studio in 1997. This marked the beginning of an expansive creative practice. Over the years, she has completed more than twenty public art projects, designed numerous graphic identities and publications, and authored five cultural arts plans. During the quiet isolation of the pandemic, her focus shifted inward and smaller in scale – intimate objects shaped by forgotten materials and quiet time.
