KATHI HOLZER
After dedicating 32 years to shaping young minds as a physical education teacher and coach, Kathi Holzer embarked on a new journey at the age of 60, turning her attention to art. While her teaching career provided moments of inspiration and solace through creative thinking, Holzer had never had the time to fully explore her artistic passion. Upon retiring, she seized the opportunity to dive headfirst into painting and drawing, channeling her boundless energy and enthusiasm into her newfound craft.
Driven by curiosity and a spirit of experimentation, Holzer’s artistic practice is a vibrant exploration of various mediums, including acrylics, oils, watercolors, mixed media, and even hot beeswax. She is constantly pushing the boundaries of her creativity, always eager to try new techniques and discover fresh ways of expressing herself.
Holzer’s mission is to inspire others to embrace their creativity, follow their passions, and find beauty in everyday life. She firmly believes in the transformative power of art to uplift, unite, and enrich lives. Through her work, she is committed to sharing her love of art and encouraging others to explore their own creative potential.
A proud member of the Boise Open Studios Collective (BOSCO), Holzer has been featured on the Sharing Her Journey podcast and conducts art workshops at her studio. Her work has been highlighted in local initiatives such as The Pebble Project at Saint Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, ID. Additionally, she has participated in local art events like West Elm’s Pop Up and Gallery Fifty-Five’s Art in the Courtyard. Holzer continues to engage with the community, displaying her work in exhibitions throughout Idaho.
