JASE (JASON DEMEO)
Jason DeMeo is a contemporary artist based in Nashville, Tennessee, whose work explores the miracle of matter and the transformative power of creativity. Through richly textured surfaces and immersive installations, he invites viewers into deeper connection—with themselves, each other, and the environments they inhabit.
Originally from Pittsburgh and of Italian heritage, Jason draws inspiration from natural processes and urban decay—rusted bridges, weathered walls, and shifting light. These elements inform his signature method, Reverse Abstraction™, in which layers of paint are applied to the studio floor, dried, and pulled up to reveal embedded textures and “memory fragments” from past works. The result is a surface history that feels both excavated and emergent—echoing the beauty that hides in the overlooked.
Jason is also the creator of Synthesism™, a creative philosophy rooted in the belief that the future of art lies not in deconstruction, but in integration—melding disparate elements into unified, meaningful wholes. Influenced by the ethos of Bauhaus and Black Mountain College, his work merges disciplines, ideas, and materials to reflect a broader inquiry into human experience, presence, and purpose.
Informed by both intuition and intentionality, Jason’s practice blends meditation and materiality. Whether through standalone pieces or large-scale installations, his work offers quiet spaces for reflection, healing, and reconnection—serving as both portal and mirror in an increasingly fragmented world.
